We welcomed Ruca (she’s a Pomeranian-Pug, in case you wondered) into our home over 3 years ago. Having a dog in the family has brought us so much joy! But everyone who is a dog-owner knows that caring for a dog entails a lot of work. It’s basically like having another child thrown into the mix. About a month ago, Nugget came into the picture. She’s actually my daughter’s boyfriend’s dog, who we are temporarily adopting while he is in between moves. Taking them on a short walk on my lunch break and after work has become part of my daily routine. Today was actually the first time I decided to snap some photos with them.

“A person can learn a lot from a dog, even a loopy one like ours. Marley taught me about living each day with unbridled exuberance and joy, about seizing the moment and following your heart. He taught me to appreciate the simple things-a walk in the woods, a fresh snowfall, a nap in a shaft of winter sunlight. And as he grew old and achy, he taught me about optimism in the face of adversity. Mostly, he taught me about friendship and selflessness and, above all else, unwavering loyalty.” – John Grogan, Marley & Me: Life and Love with the World’s Worst Dog
